Planning for the future
Housing associations house some of the most disadvantaged members of the community. Many of our residents are long-term unemployed and have a range of social, healh and care needs that require a new approach to housing management with additional support skills.
The proposed changes to welfare benefits will impact upon many of our residents and we need to ensure that we provide assistance and support during the implementation of these actions. We will continue to work with other partner agencies to find ways of creating more balanced and sustainable communities.
In most areas that we operate, ongoing high house prices mean strong demand for many of our homes which results in an excess demand over supply. However, pockets of low demand have begun to arise particularly with the bedsit or more 'tired' sheltered services schemes.
With the introduction of local service standards, Raglan will need to work with local stakeholders to ensure that we provide services our residents want and need.
