Working for Raglan

Raglan has just over 400 employees and their commitment and contributions are vital if we are to meet the housing needs and expectations of our residents and the communities where we work.  It is therefore crucial that high quality staff are recruited, developed and retained to ensure that Raglan can continually offer and improve its services.

Raglan has Investor in People status and we offer excellent learning and development opportunities. These may involve internal corporate training, continuous professional development (CPD), or borrowing DVDs, books and tapes from our DIY (Develop & Inform Yourself) Centre. We recognise that offering staff opportunities to develop skills and increase knowledge promotes a sense of value and achievement that will have a positive impact on the work place, as well as on the way we deliver our services.

This year’s staff conference saw, for the first time ever, all office and site staff under one roof. Our conferences are more than just a place to receive information, although this is important. The conference also acts as an ideas exchange, networking opportunity, and morale boosting get together, in a world where so much of our communication is done via email and the phone.

The conference was also an opportunity for our new Chief Executive Nick Harris to speak to all his staff, and deliver key messages, and employees were invited to get their hands dirty and use their team skills to create the Raglan mural, showing how we all have a vital place in the organisation.

Presentations were delivered by all the Service Review teams, which provided insight into how Raglans services can be improved for the benefit of our residents, and the conference concluded with the Staff Awards, recognising the work of members of staff who had been nominated by their colleagues for going the extra mile in customer services.
