Development Case Studies

Raglan has an excellent track record for delivering high quality schemes. Often these developments demonstrate innovative design responses to challenging circumstances.

Raglan prides itself on providing well designed buildings. Not just in terms of the aesthetics but also how they function for our residents. We believe that good design is as much about reducing the running costs for our residents and the maintenance costs for the Association going into the future, as it is creating landmark buildings. These schemes demonstrate us achieving that balance.

The case studies below illustrate a range of design solutions that we have delivered:

Sandell Place, Amesbury - Sustainable Homes Code Level 3

Sandell Place external view 

The development at Sandell Place, Amesbury was Raglan’s first to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
The homes feature solar hot water heating and a mechanical heat recovery system.

May Court, Hawthorn Road, Bournemouth - mixed use scheme in sustainable location

This development at Hawthorn Road in Bournemouth provided 43 new homes in Winton, a popular district of Bournemouth.

Benhams Road, Southampton - providing family homes in a high density area

We had to innovate to provide new affordable family homes in this city location. This development at Benhams Road demonstrates Raglan’s response to the challenge of providing family homes at high density.

Shackleton Close, Eastbourne – delivering regeneration and affordable homes in partnership
Shackleton Close 

This highly sustainable scheme of 19 affordable homes forms part of a larger development built by Barratt Homes.
The homes have regenerated an area targeted by the Council and the houses at the development feature solar hot water heating systems.

This development was the first of 3 schemes to be completed in Eastbourne as a result of partnership working with ROK.

Five Ashes

By working in partnership with Wealden District Council we have delivered these two affordable developments in Five Ashes. Whilst the designs reflect the character of the village, the properties also feature solar hot water heating systems.

Fern Close, Frant. Good design and affordable rural homes in a high value area
Frant

 

This rural development tucks neatly into the contours of the land on the edge of the village of Frant.   It provides 10 affordable family homes, 8 houses and 2 flats for people with a local connection.

The Sleepers and Sidings is an architecturally attractive scheme in the heart of Salisbury that provides a mix of homes for rent and a new model of provision where prospective purchasers can rent the home for 5 years before deciding whether to buy a share of the property.
