Building affordable homes
We are proud of the quality of the affordable housing we provide. Our homes are designed to be easy to use and cost effective for our residents to live in, whilst being attractive and enhancing the communities where we operate.
We work closely with our partners, for example local authorities and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), to meet local people’s housing needs.
We provide homes that represent value for money for our residents; the communities that we serve; our funders (much of the funding for new schemes is provided in the form of loans by major financial institutions) and in terms of the public funding that is provided by the HCA and local authorities.
Innovation in design and construction is key to our success and these pages demonstrate how we provide various housing solutions for our residents. Broadly, our new homes fit into the following categories:
We were recently successful in securing a new programme with the HCA that will see over 500 new homes delivered between 2011 and 2015, these homes will be built throughout the south east, south west and Midlands of England and, as set out in Our Vision and Values, we will build on our historic expertise in providing top quality rural, market town and suburban housing.
In addition we will deliver one environmental exemplar project per year.
