We are pleased to announce that one of our residents groups the Three Close Tenants Association, based in Loughborough has been shortlisted for Charnwood Borough Council’s 2014 annual “Don’t Muck around Awards.”
During an estate inspection at Steppes, Langton Matravers, myself and Sue Davis (Local housing officer), got chatting to residents about the communal green areas at the front of the houses and how they could be improved.
You told us that hate related incidents were affecting the lives of our residents. We helped to enable residents at the estate to learn how to deal with hate crime and to set up a reporting centre at the scheme.
You told us that cars speeding down the lane to homes was a cause for concern. We enabled residents to apply for a grant for two speed bumps and a selection of speed awareness signs.
For six weeks Barnardo’s Play Rangers ran after school activities for young people living at Hathermead Gardens in Yeovil. The purpose of the project was to promote safe and responsible play as there have been concerns over children’s safety when playing out.
