Surveys and feedback

Listed below are the types of surveys that Raglan carries out to ensure that residents have a say in how the Association's future services are planned.

You may also wish to view information on being involved through formal committees and associations and individual consultation.

Surveys & Resident Feedback
Questionnaires are used to continually monitor residents' views on the Association's services. There are three key ways that questionnaires are carried out:

By Post
For example: the new lettings survey, adaptations satisfaction survey, complaints satisfaction survey and the end of tenancy survey.

By Telephone
For example: the repairs satisfaction survey carried out by the Housing Services Centre.

Face-to-face
For example the new homes survey. This is a very important survey which enables residents moving into new properties to provide feedback on the design aspects of their homes. This information feeds directly into future design briefs. Residents can also be represented on design panels when schemes are being drawn up.

New surveys are always considered to ensure residents' views influence the development of Raglan's services. For instance, a new anti-social behaviour satisfaction survey was developed for complainants of anti-social behaviour to complete following the closure of their case.

Residents' Satisfaction Survey
Every three years Raglan commissions an independent research organisation to carry out a general residents' satisfaction survey. This survey is used to assess general trends in residents' views and the results feed directly into Raglan's business plan. The most recent survey was carried out by MORI in 2005 through face-to-face interviews.

Specific Issue Surveys & Studies
The Association commissions research on an ad-hoc basis to study particular issues. Sometimes this is done in partnership with others. For instance, a study has recently been published to assess the housing and related needs of black and minority ethnic communities in Bedfordshire. This was carried out by De Montfort University and resourced by the Housing Corporation along with a number of housing associations and local councils in the area. We are currently working in partnership with four housing associations and Southampton City Council to identify the housing needs and aspirations of black and minority ethnic communities in the city. The project is funded by the Housing Corporation and is due to report later in 2006.
