Formal Committees and
Meetings
Listed below are the
more formal ways that residents can influence the way Raglan works.
These are based on committee and association membership and follow
well defined constitutions and scheduled meetings.
Residents may also want to consider involvement
through
direct individual consultation methods and/or
surveys.
Resident Board and Regional
Committees
The
board
is the main governing body of the Association. It is made up of
voluntary members all with experience in social housing, business
and commerce. There are two resident places on the board.
An regional
committee exists for each of Raglan's geographical areas of
operation. There are a maximum of five resident places on each
regional committee, one of which should be filled by a leaseholder.
Residents represent one third of the total possible committee
membership.
Area Forums
There are
currently six area forums, which comprise representatives from
residents' associations plus elected spokespersons. Forum members
receive management reports and are consulted on policies and new
initiatives. Representatives from the area forums also sit on a
policy consultative panel and a technical services panel, which are
involved directly with the work of Raglan's board.
Residents'
Associations
This is a group of residents that
represents a particular housing development or area. Residents'
associations have an elected committee, constitution, equality
& diversity statement and a working bank account. Community
initiatives officers provide ongoing support to the group and
attend their meetings. Other members of staff attend meetings if
invited by the residents' association.
The Association has over 80 formally recognised and constituted
residents' associations and spokespersons.
If you want to be involved in any of these
please contact the Housing Services Centre by email

or telephone 0845 070 7772 where you
will be advised on how to contact your community initiatives
officer.
