Raglan operates in a multi-cultural and
diverse society and acknowledges its statutory and moral
obligations to ensure that all groups of people have access to the
same opportunities. This applies to all aspects of Raglan's
business operations including development, the provision of all
housing services, employment and all other areas of
work.
Raglan's aim is to eliminate unlawful direct and
indirect discrimination, victimisation or harassment and
promote equal opportunity for all so that no individual is treated
less favourably than another.
Raglan achieves this initially by including
equality and diversity in its business planning and already has in
place an
Equality and Diversity Statement and
a
Single Equality Scheme. A recent review carried out on property
adaptations for the disabled will contribute to this. The
Association also sets targets and monitors performance in key areas
including
racial harassment and the employment of contractors. As a
result of this monitoring Raglan has been involved in a number
of
projects and initiatives which support its equality and
diversity ideals.
