Accommodation and Care
Chaldon Road is a house for 8 people with learning disabilities
providing 24 hour support. There are 2 members of staff based at
the project throughout the day reducing to one sleep in person
overnight. Tenants have their own room but share communal
facilities such as, the lounge, kitchen, bathrooms, conservatory
and garden.
Management Responsibilities
Mencap manages the project and
is registered with
the Commission for Social Care
Inspection as a domiciliary care provider. Mencap provides
general and housing related support whilst Raglan provides a
housing management and repairs service to the project.
The accommodation is funded through the Supporting People grant and
the local authority community care budget.
Referral and Application Procedure
- Mencap send out the application form
- Mencap, Raglan and Poole Council representatives meet to
consider the applications
- Raglan will make the final decision on which applications are
successful with regard to Mencap and Poole Council's
views
